The Cost of Being Different
At Best Life, we love a house that stands out from the crowd. Sometimes it’s easier for us to sell a home that has unique, distinguishing features. Buyers will often remember a home with characteristics that set it apart from the competition. The challenge for homeowners is creating a style that is unique and different without narrowing the available buyer pool down to zero.
Price Implications
Paint colors can and do have a major impact on home value. Zillow analyzed the photos from nearly 50,000 homes to see how room color corresponded to sale price. They found that homes with yellow kitchens sold for $1,360 more than any other color.
Do I have to be Neutral?
Our suggestion? Paint the kitchen blue, if that’s what you love. But when you decide to sell your home, be prepared to make some modifications to broaden the appeal and the available buyer pool.
